Parent/Child Team Horse Class
Sun, Country, & You is now offering a class where parents and their child(ren) work as a team to learn more about horses in a safe, hands on way. In this class, students will learn about safety and communication with these majestic animals. They will be given the chance to experience horses first hand as they groom, care for, and even ride our resident horses. We have a unique assortment of sizes and personalities to choose from in our herd and our instructor will work to pair the right parent/child team with the right horse. As in all of our other classes, safety is our top priority and we take great strides to instill this in our students.

Space is limited to 4-6 parent/child teams so sign up early to ensure a spot!
Have more than one child interested in this class? We are requiring one adult to every 2 children. If a parent is unable to accompany the child(ren), another trusted adult is welcome to take that place. No children under the age of 4 for this class. Please see our other class offerings for younger children.

Nature Explorers
Want to explore the wonders of animals and nature with your children? This class may be a fit for you and your family!
What: A class where children are accompanied by a parent or other adult as they are provided with hands on experiences to delve into many different animal and nature topics. (examples of topics: farm animals, insects, Minnesota wild animals, trees and plants plus more!)
Activities: in depth hands-on experiences, art activities, free explore time, story time, outdoor group games, and interaction with resident animals
Who: Birth to 12 years old accompanied by a parent/adult
(some exceptions can be made for older children in families)
When → Tuesday mornings - 10:00 to 11:30AM
→ Wednesday Mornings - 10:00 to 11:30AM
→ Thursday Evenings – 6:00 – 7:30 pm
Classes run for 4 weeks in the months of June, July, and August, feel free to sign up for 1, 2 or 3 months
Cost → Single Child → $24 per month OR $60 for the summer
Family (more than one child) → $48 per month OR $120 for summer
Where: All action takes place in the great outdoors (weather permitting) and an indoor exploratory area located east of Crookston

Kids and Horses
What: This class teaches students about the basic care of a horse, horse behavior, balance and exercise, and limited riding opportunities through hands on experiences with full sized and miniature horses. A healthy snack is provided during each class time.
Topics: Throughout our lessons, we also cover topics like leadership, trust, communication, and building positive peer relationships. Each topic is first explored in relation to the horse and then looked at further in relation to students and their peers and family members. This is an in-depth class that continually builds upon itself throughout the summer.
Who: → 2nd grade and up
When: → Thursday afternoons 1:00 to 4:00pm
This is a 12 week class running June through August
Cost → $70 per month per child OR $195 per child for summer

Special Note: At Sun, Country, & You safety is a top priority for all involved, students and horses. As a result, the horse back riding is a secondary focus with the first 6 weeks of class containing all ground work to prepare for the riding and maintaining safety.
